Privacy notice

Information used by the project

When you create an account, the sign-in service processes your email address, password, and account activity. When you submit a tribute, we store your account identifier, your name, the mentor’s name and career role, your tribute, your choice about displaying your name, submission dates, and review information. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include.

We use this information to manage accounts, send account confirmation and password recovery emails, review and publish tributes, prevent misuse, and respond to requests.

What appears publicly

Approved tributes may display the mentor’s name and career role, the tribute text, submission year, and your name if you choose to show it. Choosing Anonymous hides your submitter name from the public display; reviewers can still see it. Your email address is not included in the public tribute display. Avoid including identifying details in the tribute if you want to remain anonymous.

Services and browser storage

Netlify hosts the website, Supabase provides account and database services, and Brevo delivers account emails. The site loads its Supabase software from jsDelivr. These providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, request logs, and email delivery information to provide their services. Sign-in uses browser storage to maintain your session. Sign out on shared devices.

We have not added Google Analytics, advertising trackers, or advertising tools. This does not mean that no technical logs or browser storage exist. We do not sell your account or tribute information. Information is shared with service providers as needed to operate the project and may be disclosed when legally required.

Retention and removal

Tributes are intended to remain available as a continuing record of mentorship. Accounts and submissions are not currently deleted on a fixed automatic schedule; pending and rejected submissions may remain stored. You may request account deletion, tribute removal, or a correction by emailing the address above. Please identify the account or tribute involved without sending a password. We may verify that you are entitled to make the request. Account deletion and public tribute removal are separate requests; please tell us if you want both.

Mentors and other people named in a tribute may also contact us about corrections or removal. Removal from our website cannot erase copies others have made or immediately remove search engine caches. Limited records may remain in provider backups or where needed for security, disputes, or legal obligations.

Submission terms

By submitting a tribute, you give Legacy of Care nonexclusive permission to store, review, format, and publicly display the submitted content after approval. You keep ownership of your writing. Submit only material you wrote or have permission to share.

Write respectfully and accurately from your own experience. Do not submit patient information, confidential workplace material, private contact details about others, harassment, discriminatory content, impersonation, or material that infringes someone else’s rights. Do not include sensitive personal information in a tribute.

Approval is required before publication and is not guaranteed. We may decline, remove, or ask for changes to a submission. Minor formatting and spelling changes may be made; substantial changes should be discussed with the submitter. You may request removal using the contact address above.

Disclaimer

Tributes reflect the personal recollections and opinions of their submitters. Review for publication does not independently verify every statement, professional credential, or employment detail. Being named on the wall does not imply that a mentor or their employer endorses this project.

This website recognizes mentorship. It does not provide patient-specific medical advice or serve as an MRI safety clearance tool. Any educational material is general information and does not replace qualified professional judgment, current manufacturer instructions, or applicable facility policies. Links to other websites do not imply endorsement, and their content and privacy practices are their own.

We aim to keep the site accurate and available, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that every submission is error-free. Contact us to report a concern.

Support and sponsorship

Creating an account and submitting a tribute are free. The current Support This Project section invites email inquiries; it does not collect payments. Financial support does not influence tribute approval. Paid sponsor placements will be clearly identified and kept separate from mentor names. Sponsorship does not imply endorsement of a sponsor’s products or services.

Changes to this page

We may update these notices as the project changes. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes to how personal information is used will be communicated on the website and, where appropriate, directly to affected members.
